At the end of the month, you get a report showing how many calls were made, how many people answered, and how many appointments were booked.
But here's the question: How many of those appointments were actually worth having?
That's where traditional telemarketing arrangements can become frustrating. You don't necessarily need more calls or longer conversations. You need the right people talking to the right prospects and getting qualified meetings onto your sales team's calendar.
Intentional Outreach was built around that outcome.
We provide outsourced B2B calling through a marketplace of vetted sales representatives. You review and approve the reps working on your campaign, define exactly what makes a meeting qualified, and choose what you're willing to pay for each one.
You're not buying hours on the phone. You're paying for qualified meetings that actually happen.
What B2B Telemarketing Looks Like Today
The word telemarketing can bring up some pretty unpleasant images: scripted callers reading from a page, interrupting people, and trying to sell something to anyone who picks up.
That's not what effective B2B telemarketing should look like.
Business-to-business calling is about reaching people who have a legitimate reason to consider what you're offering. That might be a business owner, department head, director, or executive dealing with a problem your product or service can solve.
The goal usually isn't to close a deal during the first conversation. It's to establish whether there's a potential fit and, when there is, earn the opportunity to have a longer conversation with your sales team.
A good call should sound like a professional conversation, not someone reading a script at the other end of the phone.
And that's an important distinction when you're outsourcing this part of your sales process. The person making the call represents your company. How they communicate matters.
B2B Telemarketing vs. Outsourced Telesales vs. Inside Sales
These terms are often used interchangeably, but they describe slightly different things.
Where does Intentional Outreach fit?
We focus on the front end of the B2B sales process: prospecting, qualifying, and booking meetings.
Your sales team handles the actual sales conversation and closes the deal.
That distinction matters. If you're looking for an outside team to manage every stage of your sales cycle through to a signed contract, that's not our service. If you want qualified opportunities reaching the people responsible for closing them, that's exactly what we're built for.
How Much Does Outsourced B2B Telemarketing Cost?
One of the biggest differences between telemarketing providers is how they charge.
Some charge by the hour. Others charge per representative or require a monthly retainer. Hiring internally means taking on salaries, software, recruiting, and management.
Intentional Outreach uses a pay-per-qualified-meeting model, alongside a monthly platform fee.
Here's how the main approaches compare:
There are legitimate reasons to choose any of these models.
An in-house team gives you direct control and can develop deep knowledge of your business. A good agency can bring established processes and management experience. Hourly arrangements can make sense when you need temporary calling capacity.
But if your main objective is generating qualified sales meetings, paying primarily for time and activity doesn't always make sense.
That's the idea behind pay-per-meeting.
The important part is making sure the provider has a clear definition of a qualified meeting and a process for verifying it. Otherwise, you're simply paying for appointments with a different billing structure.
For a more detailed breakdown, see our guide to appointment setting costs.
Who Is Actually Calling Your Prospects?
This is one of the first things I'd want to know before outsourcing any part of my sales process.
You're giving someone access to your prospect list, your messaging, and potentially the first impression a decision-maker has of your company.
You shouldn't have to accept whoever a provider happens to assign to your account.
At Intentional Outreach, representatives apply to individual campaigns. You can listen to their recorded audition answers, review their product quiz results, see their performance level and track record, and approve the people you want representing your business.
Our team gives the final approval before a rep joins your campaign.
Once approved for your campaign, they complete your campaign-specific training and pass your product quiz before making their first calls.
Are all representatives senior-level sales professionals? No. We don't pretend they are.
The advantage is that you get to hear how someone communicates and review their available experience before deciding whether they're right for your campaign.
What Happens When a Rep Makes Calls for Your Company?
Choosing the right representative is important. Making sure that person follows your campaign rules is just as important.
A provider can tell you that its reps are trained, but training alone isn't a reliable safeguard.
That's why Intentional Outreach builds calling controls directly into the dialer.
Calling Hours Based on the Prospect's Local Time
Your prospects aren't all in the same time zone. The dialer restricts calls to permitted calling hours based on the prospect's local time, with stricter applicable restrictions accounted for where required. If a lead's location isn't clear, the narrower calling window is used. Applicable no-call days are also blocked.
Do Not Call Screening
Applicable Do Not Call lists are checked before calls are placed. If someone asks not to be contacted again, that request is added to the permanent suppression process.
Your Own Suppression List
You can upload a list of people and companies your campaign should never contact: existing customers, open sales opportunities, business partners, previous opt-outs, and competitors or other companies you want excluded. Those records are removed from campaign calling.
Limits on Repeat Calls
The same phone number can be called no more than three times in a 24-hour period on a campaign. This helps prevent prospects from receiving excessive repeat calls.
A Recording Notice on Every Call
Calls begin with a recording notice. Every call is recorded, and the notice is played as part of the calling process.
Only representatives approved for your campaign can call your leads, and the platform currently supports calls to US numbers only.
These safeguards help support responsible calling. Your company remains responsible for ensuring that its campaigns comply with the laws and requirements applicable to its business.
You can learn more about the calling process on our B2B cold calling services page.
Every Call Is Recorded. Here's Why That Matters.
Imagine a rep books a meeting with someone at a company you're trying to reach.
The meeting looks promising, but when your salesperson joins, the prospect turns out to be completely unqualified.
What happened?
Did the rep misunderstand something? Did the prospect agree to a meeting without meeting your requirements? Was an important question never asked?
Without a recording, you're left trying to reconstruct a conversation that already happened.
With Intentional Outreach, every call is recorded. More importantly, reps must confirm every required qualification criterion during a recorded conversation before they can book a meeting.
When an appointment reaches your calendar, it includes the criteria the rep confirmed, their notes, and the prospect's contact details.
If a meeting doesn't meet your agreed requirements, you can dispute it. Our team reviews the recording against the criteria established for your campaign.
Your lead lists also remain your property. Representatives cannot copy, export, or reuse your data outside Intentional Outreach. Misusing client data can result in termination of a rep's contract.
The idea is simple: you should be able to see what happened, not just receive a report telling you that it happened.
How an Outsourced Telesales Campaign Works
You don't need to build an entire outbound sales department to get a campaign started.
The process begins with your target market, your offer, and what you consider a worthwhile sales opportunity.
Here's how it comes together.
01Define Your Ideal Customer
Who do you want to reach?
We start with your ideal customer profile, including industries, company sizes, job titles, seniority, geographic locations, and any companies or contacts that should be excluded.
The more clearly you define your audience, the easier it is to build a campaign around the right prospects.
02Build Your Sales Playbook and Call Script
Representatives need to understand what you're selling, who you're selling to, and why someone should care.
Your sales playbook covers your product or service, buyer personas, customer challenges, competitors, and how your offering is different.
Your call script covers the opening, value proposition, discovery questions, objection handling, and meeting request.
You can import your existing materials or have us draft parts using your website and other information for you to review.
03Decide What Makes a Meeting Qualified
This is where you establish the rules of the campaign.
You define the qualification criteria and the exact questions reps need to ask to confirm them. You can also establish walk-away rules for prospects who don't qualify.
By default, meetings require a decision-maker, allow one meeting per company, and permit one reschedule.
Every required qualification criterion must be confirmed on a recorded call before a meeting can be logged.
04Set Your Meeting Price and Campaign Capacity
You choose the price you're willing to pay for a qualified meeting and determine how many meetings you'd like the campaign to generate.
During setup, we use your customer acquisition cost and close rate to suggest a starting price.
As a general planning guideline, we plan for approximately one rep per 10 qualified meetings per month, rounded up, with at least one rep.
05Review and Approve Your Representatives
Reps apply to your campaign with recorded audition answers and a quiz about your product.
You review their information and decide who you want representing your company. Our team provides final approval before they start.
06Start Receiving Qualified Meetings
Once the campaign is ready, representatives begin calling your approved prospect list.
They book qualified meetings directly onto your calendar using your booking link. You receive an email notification when an appointment is scheduled.
Each booking includes the prospect's contact details, the criteria the rep confirmed, and their notes.
If you need a prospect list, you can upload your own CSV or Excel file, have us research and build one around your ideal customer, or combine both approaches. List building is scoped and priced separately.
The goal is to have a campaign live within approximately 72 hours once setup is complete and representatives are approved. We don't promise a specific date for the first meeting or a guaranteed number of meetings.
What Does Intentional Outreach Cost?
There are two main components to the pricing.
01The Monthly Platform Fee
$500 per month, plus $250 for each active representative on your campaign.
The platform fee covers:
- The dialing platform.
- Call recording.
- Campaign scripts and playbooks.
- Calling safeguards.
- Representative management.
- Campaign reporting.
We generally plan for one representative for approximately every 10 qualified meetings you want per month, rounded up.
For example:
These are planning estimates, not guaranteed meeting volumes.
02Your Price Per Qualified Meeting
You choose your price between $150 and $2,500 per qualified meeting.
Your starting price is based on your customer acquisition cost and close rate, with the platform and active rep fees taken into account.
For example, suppose it currently costs your company $3,000 to acquire a customer and your sales team closes 15% of qualified first meetings.
Your target acquisition cost per meeting would be:
$3,000 × 15% = $450.
If you want 10 meetings per month, one rep would be the planning estimate. Your platform and rep fees would total $750, or $75 per meeting at that volume.
That leaves $375 as the suggested starting price per qualified meeting:
At that price, your estimated total acquisition cost through the campaign would be approximately the same as your existing $3,000 CAC, assuming the close rate holds.
The final price is yours. A higher meeting price can make your campaign more attractive to experienced representatives.
When Does Billing Start?
Nothing is charged when you launch a campaign. The platform fee begins after your first representative is approved.
Meeting charges are billed weekly and apply only to qualified meetings that took place and weren't disputed.
If a prospect doesn't attend, you aren't charged. The rep may attempt to reschedule, and you pay only if the rescheduled meeting happens.
You have until 11:59 PM Eastern on the next business day after the meeting to report a no-show or dispute a meeting. Weekends and federal holidays don't count. Our team resolves disputes within two business days, and you aren't charged while one is under review.
There are no long-term contracts.
Who Is Outsourced B2B Telemarketing Best For?
Intentional Outreach is designed for companies that sell to other businesses and rely on conversations to generate revenue.
The strongest fit is generally a B2B company with a proven offer, a defined target market, and a sales team ready to handle qualified meetings.
That can include:
You don't necessarily need to replace your existing sales team.
Outsourced telesales can complement your internal SDRs by covering a territory or market segment they aren't reaching. It can also help you test a new offer or audience before committing to additional full-time employees.
When Is It Not a Good Fit?
The service is generally not designed for:
- Consumer businesses selling directly to individual buyers.
- Residential home service companies.
- Agencies.
- Small transactional sales where a qualified meeting doesn't make economic sense.
- Businesses without a proven offer or a clearly defined target market.
- Companies without anyone available to take and follow up on meetings.
- Teams that already receive more inbound opportunities than they can handle.
Intentional Outreach is currently in its launch stage, and our team works directly with early clients to establish campaigns properly. We'd rather determine that the service isn't a fit before you invest in it.
We currently call US businesses in English.
