B2B Cold Calling Services: Choose Your Reps and Pay Per Qualified Meeting

A lot of B2B cold calling services sell you activity: dial counts, connect rates, hours logged, and weekly reports. But those numbers don't necessarily tell you who spoke with your prospects, what was discussed, or whether the meetings being booked are actually worth your sales team's time.

Activity-based servicesDial counts, connect rates, hours logged, and weekly reports.
Your repsYou review and approve the reps working on your campaign.
Pay per meetingYou pay for qualified meetings that actually happen.

Intentional Outreach takes a different approach. Vetted sales reps call US-based B2B prospects on your behalf. You review and approve the reps working on your campaign, define exactly what qualifies as a meeting, and set your own price per qualified meeting.

Instead of paying for dialing activity, you pay for qualified meetings that actually happen. You also get visibility into the calls, the reps, and the results.

What Good B2B Cold Calling Services Should Provide

The basic job of a cold calling service is straightforward: contact people in your target market, start relevant conversations, identify potential opportunities, and schedule meetings with qualified prospects.

The difference between a good service and a frustrating one is everything that happens around those conversations.

A reliable B2B cold calling service should provide:

Experienced callersReps who can hold professional conversations with directors, executives, and other decision-makers.
Clear qualification criteriaA written definition of what makes a meeting qualified, including the questions reps must ask.
Call recordingsAccess to recordings so you can review conversations, evaluate quality, and resolve disputes.
Calling safeguardsSystems that help enforce Do Not Call screening, calling-hour restrictions, and opt-out requests.
Transparent pricingA clear explanation of what you're paying for and when a meeting becomes billable.
Performance visibilityThe ability to review rep activity, meeting outcomes, and campaign performance.

A provider should be able to show you how its process works rather than asking you to trust a meeting count in a weekly report.

What to Look for When Choosing a B2B Cold Calling Service

Before hiring a provider, ask a few important questions. These apply to any service you're considering, including Intentional Outreach.

Who Is Actually Making the Calls?

Ask whether you can review the people who will represent your company before they start calling.

With some outsourced cold calling services, callers are assigned to your campaign without much input from you. You may not know who is making the calls until you start seeing results.

You should have a chance to hear how a rep communicates, evaluate their experience, and decide whether they are a good fit for your market.

How Is a Qualified Meeting Defined?

The definition of a qualified meeting should be established before the campaign starts.

Ask whether you can define your own qualification criteria and whether callers must ask specific questions to verify those requirements.

You should also understand what happens when a meeting doesn't meet the agreed criteria. Without a clear process, disagreements over meeting quality can become a recurring problem.

Are Calls Recorded and Can You Access Them?

Call recordings provide visibility into what actually happened during a conversation.

They also make it easier to coach reps, improve scripts, review prospect objections, and resolve disputes over whether a meeting was qualified.

Ask whether recordings are available to clients and how they can be accessed.

How Does the Service Handle Calling Compliance?

Training reps on calling rules is important, but the systems supporting those reps matter too.

Ask how the provider handles Do Not Call screening, prospect time zones, calling-hour restrictions, opt-out requests, and call recording notices.

You should understand what safeguards are built into the dialing process and what responsibilities remain with your company.

What Are You Actually Paying For?

Some providers charge a monthly retainer. Others charge by the hour or by the appointment.

A retainer or hourly arrangement generally means paying for the work being performed, regardless of how many qualified meetings result.

A pay-per-meeting model ties more of the cost to the outcome. However, the definition of a qualified meeting needs to be specific, and you should know whether no-shows or disputed meetings are billed.

How Intentional Outreach's B2B Cold Calling Service Works

Intentional Outreach gives you control over the important parts of your outbound campaign, from choosing representatives to defining what counts as a qualified meeting.

You can set up your campaign yourself or work with our team during the setup process.

01Choose Your Sales Reps

Instead of being assigned a calling team, you review applicants who want to work on your campaign.

Each applicant records spoken answers to the audition questions you create and completes a short quiz about your product or service.

You can review their audition, quiz results, performance level, and track record before deciding who you want to approve. Our team provides final approval before a rep joins your campaign.

Before reaching a client campaign, every rep has also completed:
A written application and experience review.
A recorded audition on a practice campaign.
A 60-minute group interview on Google Meet.
A live practice call with feedback from a manager.
Review of the rep handbook and agreement.

Not every rep is a senior-level performer. The advantage is that you can hear how they communicate and review their available performance information before making your selection.

02Create Your Sales Playbook and Call Script

Your sales playbook gives reps the information they need to understand your business and communicate your offer accurately.

It should cover:

  • Your product or service.
  • Your ideal customer profile.
  • Buyer personas and their primary challenges.
  • Competitors and how your offering differs.
  • Common objections and appropriate responses.
  • Important details reps must communicate.
  • Statements or promises reps must never make.

Your call script covers the actual conversation, including the opening, value proposition, discovery questions, objection handling, and meeting request.

You can also include voicemail language and optional gatekeeper or referral questions.

If you already have a script, you can import it. If you need help getting started, we can draft parts of the playbook using your website or existing materials for you to review and edit.

Reps train on the approved materials before making their first calls.

03Define What Counts as a Qualified Meeting

Every campaign has its own qualification criteria.

You decide what a prospect needs to meet before a meeting can be booked. Each required criterion is paired with a question the rep must ask to confirm it.

You can also establish walk-away rules for prospects who don't meet your requirements.

By default, every meeting must involve a decision-maker, each company can have one meeting, and one reschedule is allowed. These settings can be adjusted for your campaign.

Before logging a meeting, the rep must confirm every required qualification criterion during a recorded call.

When a meeting is booked, you receive the prospect's contact details, the criteria the rep confirmed, and their notes.

This gives your sales team more context before the conversation even begins.

04Reps Book Directly Onto Your Calendar

You provide your booking link, whether that's one shared team calendar or an individual link for each person taking meetings.

Reps book qualified prospects directly onto your calendar, and you receive an email notification when a meeting is scheduled.

There is no need to coordinate meeting times manually between your team and the calling reps.

05Set Your Price Per Qualified Meeting

You choose what you're willing to pay for a qualified meeting, within the platform's $150–$2,500 range.

During setup, we suggest a starting price based on your customer acquisition cost, close rate, and the platform fee.

The goal is to align the cost of acquiring a customer through the campaign with what you're already spending to acquire customers through other channels.

A higher meeting price can also make your campaign more attractive to experienced reps.

Compliance Safeguards Built Into the Dialer

Cold calling requires more than giving reps a list of phone numbers and a script. The dialing process needs safeguards that help prevent calls that shouldn't be made.

Intentional Outreach builds several calling controls into its dialer.

Do Not Call screeningNumbers on the applicable Do Not Call list are checked before calls are placed. Anyone who asks not to be called again is added to the permanent suppression process.
Local calling hoursCalls are restricted to permitted calling hours based on the prospect's local time. Stricter applicable state calling-hour restrictions are accounted for in the dialing rules.
Call frequencyThe same number can be called no more than three times per day.
Recording noticeA recording notice plays on every call.

Your Suppression List

You can upload a suppression list containing existing customers, open opportunities, business partners, and anyone who has previously opted out.

You can also identify companies that should never be contacted.

These records are excluded from campaign calling. If Intentional Outreach builds a lead list for you, those records are also checked against your existing and suppression lists to avoid duplicates.

Your lead lists remain your property. Reps are not permitted to copy, export, or reuse your data outside Intentional Outreach. Misuse of client data can result in termination of a rep's contract.

These safeguards support responsible calling, but your company remains responsible for ensuring its campaigns comply with the laws and requirements applicable to its business.

US-Based B2B Cold Calling Services

Intentional Outreach currently runs campaigns targeting US prospects in English.

We do not run campaigns targeting prospects outside the United States.

This makes the service a fit for companies looking to reach US-based business owners, executives, department heads, and other decision-makers through outbound phone calls.

Lead Lists: Bring Your Own or Have Us Build One

You can upload your existing prospect list as a CSV or Excel file.

If you don't have a usable list, Intentional Outreach can research and build one based on your ideal customer profile.

Depending on your campaign, targeting criteria might include companies:

Hiring for specific sales or leadership roles.Recently raising venture capital.Entering a new geographic market.Expanding into a new product or service category.Matching a particular industry, company size, or business profile.

Lead research and list building are scoped and priced separately based on the campaign requirements.

You can also combine your own prospect list with additional research.

Your uploaded lead data remains yours. Reps cannot reuse your lists outside the platform or export them for unrelated purposes.

How Intentional Outreach Pricing Works

Intentional Outreach uses a combination of a monthly platform fee and a price you choose for each qualified meeting.

CostPricingWhat it covers
Platform fee$500/monthDialer, call recording, scripts, calling safeguards, rep management, and reporting
Active rep$250/month per repEach active representative working on your campaign
Qualified meeting$150–$2,500Your selected price for each qualified meeting that takes place

You choose the price per meeting within the platform's available range.

How Many Reps Do You Need?

The general planning guideline is one rep for approximately every 10 qualified meetings you want per month, rounded up, with at least one rep.

For example:

10 meetings per month1 rep.
20 meetings per month2 reps.
30 meetings per month3 reps.

Actual capacity depends on the campaign, target market, prospect list, and calling requirements.

How Do You Set Your Price Per Meeting?

Setup uses your customer acquisition cost and close rate to help establish a starting price.

The basic calculation is:

Customer acquisition cost × close rate = Target cost per qualified meeting

For example, if your current customer acquisition cost is $2,000 and your sales team closes 20% of qualified first meetings, your target cost per meeting is $400.

Setup then takes the platform fee into account by spreading it across your expected meetings for the month. At 20 meetings a month, the platform fee with two rep seats ($1,000) works out to $50 a meeting, so the suggested starting price is $350.

That gives you a starting point for deciding what you're willing to pay for a qualified meeting. For the full math, see our guide to appointment setting cost.

If you don't know your customer acquisition cost or close rate, we can work through the numbers during setup.

When Does Billing Start?

Nothing is charged when you first launch a campaign.

The platform fee begins after your first rep is approved. There are no long-term contracts.

Meeting charges are billed weekly and apply only to qualified meetings that have taken place and have not been successfully disputed.

What Happens When a Prospect Doesn't Show Up?

A booked meeting and a completed meeting aren't necessarily the same thing.

If a prospect doesn't attend, you aren't charged for that meeting.

The rep may attempt to reschedule the prospect. If the new meeting takes place, it becomes billable under the campaign's agreed criteria.

You have until 11:59 PM Eastern on the next business day after the meeting to report a no-show or dispute it. Weekends and federal holidays don't count.

When disputing a meeting, you select the reason and provide a note. Our team reviews the call recording against the qualification criteria established for your campaign.

Disputes are reviewed and resolved within two business days. You aren't charged while a dispute is under review.

If someone on your own team cancels or misses a scheduled meeting, it counts as held.

Who Are These B2B Cold Calling Services Best For?

Intentional Outreach is designed primarily for B2B companies with a sales-led process.

The strongest fit is generally a business that sells through discovery calls, consultations, or product demonstrations and has a sales team capable of handling qualified meetings.

This can include:

B2B SaaS companiesSoftware businesses looking to generate qualified demos and sales conversations.
Technology companiesBusinesses selling technical products or services to other organizations.
VC-backed and growth-stage companiesBusinesses looking to test outbound acquisition or expand into new markets.
Enterprise-focused companiesOrganizations selling higher-value products or services through a longer sales process.

The service can also complement an existing SDR team by covering a new segment, territory, or audience that your internal team isn't currently reaching.

It's useful for testing a new market or messaging approach before committing to additional full-time sales headcount.

When Is It Not a Good Fit?

The service is generally not a fit for:

  • Consumer businesses selling directly to individual buyers.
  • Home service businesses focused on residential customers.
  • Very small, transactional deals where a sales meeting isn't economically practical.
  • Companies without a proven offer or clear target market.
  • Teams that already receive more inbound opportunities than they can handle.

You should also have someone available to take the meetings and follow up with qualified prospects.

Intentional Outreach is currently in its launch stage, and our team works closely with early clients to get campaigns set up properly. We'd rather establish whether the service fits your sales process before you invest in a campaign.
